We expanded our Aruduino lineup with Sparkfun's "Arduino Pro Mini" It's blue! It's skinny! It's the Arduino Pro! SparkFun's minimal design approach to Arduino. This is a 3.3V Arduino running the 8MHz bootloader (select 'Arduino Duemilanove w/ 328' within the Arduino software). The power switch was moved to the side of the board (good idea Limor!) to allow control when a shield is attached. This board does not work with the 5V Arduino shields but does work nicely with our prototyping shield.
The Arduino Pro does not come with the connectors populated so that you can solder in any connector or wire with any orientation you need for your exact project. We recomend first time Arduino users start with the
Arduino Duemilanove It's a great board that will get you up and running quickly. The Arduino Pro series is meant for users that understand the limitations of the 3.3V system voltage, lack of connectors and no USB on board.
The Arduino Pro is designed for low profile use and is recommended to be powered with a LiPO battery for great portability as well. If you need regular DC power a standard jack can be soldered onto the unpopulated pads.
This board connects directly to the
FTDI Basic Breakout board for sketch uploading (supports auto-reset) and can be used with a standard FTDI cable but without auto reset.
